The 5th arrondissement of Paris (the Latin Quarter) is one of the central districts, located on the Left Bank (Rive Gauche) of the Seine. The famous Parisian University, of the Sorbonne, was founded here and the corner has a strong student presence, with several universities and colleges of higher education located in the area. The area is also home to the heart of the ancient Gallo-Roman city, Lutetia. Rare archaeological remains will be seen during this walk.
